Toyota Avanza, 0 to 175 KPH

Oh by the way, that's 0 to 175 kph in 2 minutes! Not 10 secs.

And this one, Honda Hatch and Ferrari. Is this real life or fake? Reminds me of the Italian Job car chase.

A Push For Pool

Like I know the answer to everyall, I was texted/asked, "why billiards isn't included in the olympics?

My answer is/was, Billiards just has too many variations (snooker, pool, etc) and each variation has even more types (8 balls, 9 balls, rotation).

And my 2nd known reasoning is... each game has rules where interpretation varies in different countries, localities even.

As Filipinos are known to be "magulang", billiards rules differ from town to town. My mates alone, they make rules on the fly, of course rules that will favor them. Ok, I am guilty of that too.

That's my 2 cents, err, 2 reasons basically. It has lots of game types and criss-crossing rules interpretation.

The rest of the story here.

Totally OT, but did you know that it's easier to hit the fucking shift-delete keys everyday than to fight fuckin spam with anit-spam, filter and all that? The white-flag is blowing in the wind!

One Line for Kiko

Not to post just to join the circus (I admit, I sometime post for that reason) and just be in, but lemme post this one for Kiko Magalona.

He may be tired (or not) of hearing people calling him "idol" but the fact is, indeed, he's an idol. Idol namin si Kiko mula bata pa. We wrote some songs imitating him. Even before Eheads came to life, we wrote the songs, we wrote the songs.

We were already writing english or tagalog songs (or what may seem to be a song for that matter). That's because of Francis Magalona.

He's almost going in the "icon" territory. His massive contributions to the music industry entertainment, fashion, pinoy pop culture is the reason why his peers and common tao like us are affected upon hearing the news.

It may sound chippy, but really, I only follow few local personalities and one of them is Francis. My RSS reader is subscribed to his Multiply account. From Kiko site, he's almost a one man real deal life magazine. Stuff he's into, I like.

From sports, to music, a lil bit of entertainment, fashion shoes and tees, gadgets, gaming, food, photography, he's into it. Love reading his blog. That's why the Francis news is a big letdown.

Anyways, the man from manila needs blood donation and prayers from the people of the 3 stars and a sun.

Being high BPd, I'll help with the prayers part...

Prayers really move mountains, solve problems, give good night sleep and most of all, cure/treat a sickness/disease. And so folks, while at it praying for your own intentions, insert one stanza, one line, for Kiko's recovery.

This is not a Happy Battle for Francism but I am sure, people will be supporting him in many ways.

Ace, The Helpful (But Inventory Aint Full) Place

A play with corporate tag line... Ace, the helpful place.

I did quick shop of some tools over at Ace Waltermart Pasay Road - Pasong Tamo. My pliers, long nose and cutter set is delaying some electrical tasks I've been doing so I needed a new set. I went for the "Daiken" line, a mid-range priced brand name. A 3-pc pliers, long nose and a cutter is at P600 range.

I also replaced my soldering gun. Cost of a a soldering gun with good wattage is P200. Lower than that, you might suffer in the end for long heating time, inadequate heat to melt the lead and bad solder too. Don't go cheap when it comes to the soldering iron.

But of course, I needed a soldering iron holder and 1 roll of solder lead. Walah, Ace, the helpful place, doesn't have the two. Yep, basic stuff, lead and solder stand they don't have on stock. My wanted items are basic. They have to have those any given time.

In fairness, the sales people were indeed helpful. Only, the inventory aint full.

Good Planning Prevents You From Waking Up Thy Neighbors

Am up early today, well at least compared to my usual up time. Add that, I slept past 12mn again.

What made me see daylight?

These folks in the building in front of us were already alive and kicking, err, live and pounding away the walls. They are making a slot for an air condition unit. This building is about 8 floors high and units are for rent.

Surely, they constructed this building with the monthly rates already computed. Otherwise how can they possibly know when they'll get back the money invested, if at all they'll get it back.

News around here is that rate is P12,000 a month. Pretty high for a small space. Establishing 12k a month means they already got their target market. Middle class range, able to pay 12k at downtown Makati. In other words, they know the would-be occupants, willing and able to pay P1000 for an Air Conditioner. So prepare the slot during the construction.

Question is, why he owner/contractor did not take this to the account. Why not readily put a provision for an air condition slot. So that, the AC slot is uniform in size and form AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, they don't wake me up early. I hate poor planning.

To compound the pound(ing), the guys that are working on right now?... They are using teeny tiny little tools. Small electrical drill, small hammer and a damn concrete nail. If that's a precast concrete you're working on, good luck.

Now, some units have slot. Some don't have. Placement isn't uniform. In short, it's ugly. Investing multi-million pesos, then 'uglyfy' he loks in 3 years.

Why do I care? Two words, my sleep.

Orig post here.

Ginebra and Air21 Fun Finals Prediction (my post at
HooPh!)

1. Prior to game one, JC Intal being interviewed by my favorite “analyst” Barry Pascua… Barry asks, “what adjustments have you made to prepare for this finals?” Intal will say, “Sino Kalaban? La Salle?” It will not end there folks, Barry will say his famous line, “YUN NA NGA EH!”

2. Jayjay Helterbrand will dribble the ball 67% of the time Ginebra has it.

3. Leo Isaac will secretly cheer for Ginebra. He thinks, it’s 1988.

4. In game 3, with Air 21 down in the fourth quarter and Gary David only able to choke, err, chalk up 4 points and contemplating on an incoming loss, he will ask, “WHO THE HELL GAME ME, MR. PURE ENERGY MONICKER.” That’s just friggin un-creative. He’ll suggest, try “Mr. Hataw Na!” Try “Shout For Points.” Try “Take Me Out Of The Bench.”

5. Broadcasters/game analysts will say this 234 times (79 times from Quinito Henson alone, my church mate btw @ Tierra Nueva), Paul Artadi brings hustle and energy.

6. To which, Jason nodding, he’ll say, so therefore Paul Artadi has future in the play-by-play tv job. Turns out, pre-requisite for a TV anchor job today is be a PBA energy guy, intangibles guy and someday you’ll earn megabucks doing TV games. Ask Reyes, Richard Del Rosario, Jason Webb and Peter Martin. ( I like Jason Webb and Richard Del Rosario btw. Reyes, dunno, he’s not given a chance to do games. Peter Martin, he’s better managing SMC teams.)

The rest of the entry here.

Nowhere Sites

I mentioned the streamlining I made on my bookmarked sites. Some are 3 to 4 years old and the favorrites lists really needed the clean up. Herewith are sample websites long been gone... or at best, no longer updated.
  • balitabalita.com
  • homepagekoto.com
  • ebuyncell.com
  • mytindahan.com
  • thetradingpost.ph
  • kuweba.com
  • newsbump.net
  • astigg.com
  • myphilippines.com
  • hellomanila.com
  • gophilippines.com
  • buyncell.biz
  • yotophoto.com
  • thesimplegallery.com
  • estore-exchange.com
  • pinoybookstoreonline.com
  • openpinoy.net
  • itechmobile.net
  • youtubex.com
  • infamousx.com
  • philippinesfreeads.com
Which reminds me, in doing websites, it can't be just be on pure impulse.

Registering a domain name (and cheap btw) and it's easy to start a project but maintaining such and having the commitment to stick to the project and push through it in thin times is the tougher part.

Have to see the long-term. See how you'll generate income (btw, don't create a site thinking Google Adsense money alone all the time, you won't last), what really is the target audience, how your site will evolve etc. etc. Otherwise, in one year, your site, the domain name, the development made go "bye bye na" on you.

(check some of the domains above, some are for sale)

Positively Owned

I had a meeting with one 24 year old (yes, her age was a topic, as well as her address, friendster profile, salary, etc.) chinese girl (account executive) and my ring kinda got in the way. And so, I rest my desire, err, case. I am owned or shall I say PWNED. “P” for positively owned. If you’re pwned, as in pwned, this should apply too. Either way, this is our badge.

Cleansing the Bookmarks & Moving Forward

I finally had the time to clean my fucked up BOOKMARK/FAVORITES list.

Man, could be over a thousand bookmarked sites. Excluding the downloadable “top 100″ sites released by PC Mag yearly.

Before deleting some, of course, they have to be revisited and checked if the contents are still related to current times and to what I do. Some of my bookmarked sites are some of the online stores in the Philippines and some freelance sellers who made sites at free hosting sites are nowhere to be found. Gone with the wind. Other deleted sites are, web hosting business, programming tutorials, dead forums/community, link exchange sites, classifieds website, idle blogs, e-commerce solutions provider, payment gateway provider, etc.

Not to lift the desk, so to speak, but my blog (and other sites) has been online since 04. (In fact 02 and 03 , I've been trying to put one blog but no success. No continuity therefore DELETE BLOG I did, 3 times.)

Sure, I made no mark at all in 4 years but it doesn't matter, more important is, we're getting good income off online activity and that, we have plans for the future. We'll do more online stuff in a stealthy fashion and passion. (stealth, thus the name, hideyourmonkey). We got plans, stay tuned.

So, next time you too begin deleting bookmarked sites, skip HIDEYOURMONKEY bookmark (Ha! who would bookmark this blog) 'coz this blog is staying put. I am here for the long (cash) haul.

Only Belo Touches My Ass

Have not been paying attention to this, but I noticed our C.R. has/had 5 active soaps. Only noticed this when 4 out 5 of these soaps are nowhere to be found. I got the SAFEGUARD (pay me Procter & Gamble) and the waterbased facial soap (i don't use anymore).

I asked, what are those other three anyways.

One, the Gluta-something, colored orange.

Two, HIYANG soap, colored orange.

And, BELO beauty soap.

For the first time in months, I only see the Belo soap on the rack.

Pending a quick trip to SM Hypermart, only Belo touches my ass.
